Jake joined McCausland Barrett & Bartalos P.C. as an associate in September 2021 after clerking with the firm for nearly two years. He earned his J.D. from Creighton University School of Law in 2021, graduating with a certificate in Mediation. During law school, Jake served as a teaching and research assistant for Contracts II and was recognized as an outstanding oralist in moot court. Jake was also named to the Dean’s List, received a CALI Excellence for the Future Award, and was ranked first in his class for the Spring 2021. He received his undergraduate degree in Political Science from the University of Colorado.
Originally from Colorado, Jake now calls the Midwest home. Outside of work, he enjoys playing golf and spending time with his wife, Brooke, and their dog, Arnold.

April 2025 – Clinton Turley and Jacob Cundiff obtained a verdict for significantly less than their client previously offered. Plaintiffs were husband and wife and the husband alleged a significant Traumatic Brain Injury. Plaintiffs put on evidence of alleged economic damages between $5.38 million and $6.2 million and asked the jury to return a verdict of between $9 million and $11.5 million. The jury returned a verdict for $550,000.

April 2024 – Michael McCausland and Jacob Cundiff obtained jury verdict for less than previously filed Offer of Judgment in an accident involving a motorcycle operated by Plaintiff and a vehicle driven by their client. In closing, Plaintiffs asked for “millions” for the motorcyclist on his negligence claim and an additional $500,000 for his wife’s claim for loss of consortium. The jury assessed 70% fault to the motorcyclist and returned a combined verdict of $125,000, which was further reduced by a credit from a previous settlement with another party.
