Layne grew up on a small ranch in East Texas and received a Bachelor of Language Arts in English from Texas A&M University prior to attending law school at Oklahoma City University School of Law. While in law school, Layne interned at the Oklahoma County Public Defenders Juvenile Division and received an award for the pro bono legal services she provided. She also gained experience working at personal injury and insurance defense firms while in law school.

Layne joined the firm in September 2022 and works in the Kansas City office as an associate attorney. She lives in Kansas City with her fiancé, Sam, and two dogs, Cash and Charlie. In Layne’s free time, she enjoys reading, socializing with friends and family, listening to music, all things pop culture, and exploring Kansas City.
