Makayla Watson is a full-time Associate at McCausland Barret & Bartalos, P.C. Born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, Makayla has found a home away from home in Kansas City, Missouri. She is a graduate of the University of Missouri School of Law, where she has distinguished herself both academically and through leadership.
While at Mizzou, Makayla was a 1L moot court finalist and served as President of the Black Law Students Association. As president, she launched initiatives promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion, guiding students throughout their law school experience. She actively participated in the Women’s Law Association and contributed to the Journal of Dispute Resolution, where she built strong friendships and professional ties.
She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Political Science with a minor in Africana Studies from the University of Central Missouri.
Outside of her studies, Makayla enjoys spending time with her two nephews and niece, exploring new restaurants with friends, and watching new TV shows.
