Thomas joined the firm in August 2017 after beginning his legal career at a plaintiff’s personal injury and employment law firm. Since joining the firm, his practice has focused on civil litigation with an emphasis on insurance coverage disputes, bad faith litigation, and defense of insureds and insurers in both state and federal court. Thomas has substantial experience representing and advising clients through all stages of the claims process and litigation, including early claims evaluation, excess exposure and coverage analysis, and pre-suit negotiation, as well as written and oral discovery, motion practice, jury trials, and appellate proceedings.

 

He earned his J.D. from the University of Iowa College of Law in May 2016, where he served as Managing Editor of the Journal of Corporation Law and completed a clerkship with Justice Thomas D. Waterman of the Iowa Supreme Court and interned with the United States Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Iowa. Thomas received his undergraduate degree in Philosophy and Political Science from Central College in Pella, Iowa, in 2013.
